MiniLease vs. Leasing
What’s the Difference between MiniLease & Leasing?
MiniLease is a car subscription without a binding contract. The minimum subscription period is 30 days. The vehicle remains the property of Herold Fahrzeugvermietung AG. You do not need to make a down payment for a MiniLease vehicle, and there is no credit check other than the credit card verification.

Subscription Requirements
What are the conditions for subscribing to a vehicle?
You must be at least 19 years old and have held a valid driver’s license for at least 1 year. You must also have a permanent residence in Switzerland. For vehicles in the Hertz Prestige Collection, the minimum age is 25. Please contact us for further information. In addition, Hertz’s General Rental Terms and Conditions apply.
What rules apply to EU citizens crossing the Swiss border with a rental car?
If you reside in the EU and rent a car in Switzerland, you are not permitted to leave the country with the vehicle.
Do you offer subscriptions abroad?
Subscriptions abroad cannot be requested via hertzminilease.ch. Please contact our reservation center at 0848 822 020.
Can someone else drive the subscribed vehicle instead of me?
Yes, you can register an additional driver. This person must be registered at the rental station and present a valid ID in person.
Do you offer fuel cards for business customers?
No, we do not offer fuel cards.
Insurance coverage
There is a basic insurance option, which is always included in the price. This includes theft protection and liability reduction with a deductible between CHF 1,000 and CHF 5,000. It is also possible to reduce the deductible to CHF 0 by choosing the optional all-inclusive insurance option (SuperCover).

Roadside Assistance
What Happens if I Have a Breakdown?
As a MiniLease customer, you benefit from 24/7 roadside assistance. You can find all details in your rental contract or by contacting our service team.

Hertz MiniLease Fleet
Are light commercial vehicles included in the MiniLease fleet?
Yes, subscriptions are also available for our commercial vehicles. For exact pricing, please check the "Vans" section or contact us directly using the contact form.
Payment Terms
Is there a credit card check?
Yes, your credit card will be verified at the time of rental, and a security amount will be blocked. However, there is no credit rating check. No down payment is required.
Can a third party pay my rate if I don’t have my own credit card?
Yes, but the credit card holder must be present when the vehicle is picked up. For Prestige vehicles, this rule does not apply – the driver must also be the credit card holder.
Gold Plus Rewards
Can I Collect Gold Plus Rewards with MiniLease?
Yes, please inform our staff at the rental stations. You can provide your Gold Plus Rewards number when picking up the vehicle. You can register for the Gold Plus Rewards program here.
Yellow Card
Can I Use My Yellow Card for a MiniLease Rental?
Yes, with the Yellow Card you receive a 15% discount on Hertz MiniLease (not combinable with other promotions).
